As the rotations turn (and Chavez update)

The Triple-A Norfolk Tides tweeted their rotation following the All-Star break, and it begins with left-hander Zach Britton on Thursday. Tommy Hunter is scheduled to pitch Friday, followed by Jason Berken on Saturday, Brian Matusz on Sunday and Jake Arrieta on Monday. Arrieta is getting an extended rest after making his final start for the Orioles on July 5 in Anaheim. He's 3-9 with a 6.13 ERA in 18 games. Britton is 3-1 with a 4.87 ERA in seven games with the Tides. He's allowed five earned runs and 11 hits in his last two starts covering 14 innings. The Orioles need a fifth starter on Tuesday and Britton would be working on normal rest if he's promoted. Jason Hammel, Wei-Yin Chen and Chris Tillman are scheduled to start in the three-game series against the Tigers that begins on Friday at Camden Yards, and Miguel Gonzalez will pitch Monday against the Twins in Minnesota. The Orioles play 20 straight games after the break. They're not off until Aug. 2, two days after the non-waiver trade deadline. NOTE: Endy Chavez is batting leadoff and playing left field tonight for Single-A Delmarva. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts yesterday for the Gulf Coast League Orioles. Tonight marks the second game of his injury-rehab assignment.
