The Orioles apparently will make two roster moves today.
Jason Berken is running sprints in the outfield with Stu Pomeranz before batting practice at Camden Yards. It looks like he's being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, though we're still waiting for the Orioles to send out a news release.
They're most likely going to wait until closer to the first pitch to make sure the weather doesn't interrupt their plans. I think they're safe, but they're usually cautious when it comes to confirming player moves.
Berken threw two innings for Norfolk on Saturday before the game was stopped because of rain. The Tides played a doubleheader yesterday, and Chris Tillman took over Game 1 for Berken.
Used as a starter in the minors, Berken has allowed three earned runs (five total) and 21 hits in 22 innings, with eight walks and 15 strikeouts.
Berken spent two days with the Orioles while second baseman Robert Andino was on paternity leave. He didn't appear in a game.
We'll find out later how the Orioles are creating room on the 25-man roster.
