Chambers insists Harper "very coachable"

College of Southern Nevada enters the final week of the regular season riding an eight game winning streak and a 42-10 overall record. The Coyotes are 29-7 in conference play, guaranteeing their 6th Scenic West conference regular season championship. They have two games remaining on their schedule at Salt Lake Community College, Friday and Saturday before the post season starts May 12th. Potential #1 overall selection Bryce Harper continues to lead the team with 21 HRs, .417 batting average and 64 RBI, .899 slugging percentage and a .507 on-base percentage. Coyotes coach Tim Chambers has fielded a lot of calls about Bryce Harper's character and makeup the last couple of weeks following the April 22nd Baseball Prospectus article. The bottom line is it seems to be an attempt to place a chink in the armor of Harper as the top choice in the draft. I asked Tim if he felt Harper was coachable: Did Bryce listen, was he able to take criticism and critique and learn? "He is super eager to learn. He has learned a lot since he arrived. He has picked up stuff from the older guys on the team. He is learning how the minor leagues will be with 11 hour bus rides and 24 hour overnight stays." "Bryce is very coachable. Earlier he worked on his hitting. We watched a lot of film. He has picked up his hitting so much that we haven't had to work on it much recently."
