MIAMI - The Nationals may not be firing on all cylinders right now, but they're getting the job done for the most part. Especially in the games that matter most toward their clinching of another division title. They've now won four in a row against the Marlins over the last week-plus, reducing their magic number to 10, and tonight they'll have a chance to bring that number down to eight.
It's Stephen Strasburg on the mound, facing the same Marlins lineup he shut out six days ago. Actually, it's nearly the entire same lineup he faced Wednesday afternoon in D.C., the lone exceptions being Brian Anderson batting seventh instead of A.J. Ellis and Odrisamer Despaigne pitching instead of Adam Conley.
This is Despaigne's third appearance against the Nationals this season, but his first start. He has pitched well out of the bullpen, holding the Nats to one run in 5 2/3 innings over two games.
