Guillen heated, Strasburg hitting (Nats win 4-0)

There's been no shortage of fireworks through the first few innings of today's ballgame. We've got Ozzie Guillen dropping F-bombs in the direction of Nationals players or their manager, Roger Bernadina laying out to make a diving, run-saving grab, Davey Johnson giving it to first base umpire D.J. Reyburn and Stephen Strasburg sending his OPS to ridiculous levels. The Nationals lead 2-0 in the sixth thanks to RBI singles from Strasburg and Steve Lombardozzi. Strasburg's base knock came immediately after the Marlins opted to intentionally walk Jhonatan Solano with two outs. Might want to get Guillen and the Marlins some scouting reports. If they think Strasburg is just a run-of-the-mill pitcher when he steps in the box, they're sorely mistaken. The Nats ace is now hitting .385 this season with four RBIs. He's reached base in both plate appearances today, walking in the third, and is now slugging .654, which is just a ridiculous number. The situation with Guillen and the guys in the Nationals' dugout was certainly an interesting one. Before a pitch was thrown in the fourth, the Marlins manager came out of his team's dugout and engaged in a heated discussion with home plate umpire Marty Foster. His comments probably should have had a PG-13 label attached to them. Guillen was really fired up about something, and then started shouting either at Bryce Harper, who was set to lead off the fourth, or Johnson. Guillen grabbed a bat from his dugout and gestured towards it, possibly indicating that Harper had pine tar up too high on his bat. The whole incident was a bit bizarre, and we'll have to wait until after the game to find out what really had Guillen so heated. Strasburg has worked out of trouble all afternoon and has stranded eight through five scoreless innings. Update: Strasburg's done after six innings, and while he wasn't at his best today (on the mound, at least), he leaves with a 4-0 lead. The righty battled through his afternoon, allowing six hits and a walk, but he stranded runners at second and third in the second inning and worked through a bases-loaded jam in the third. The Nats got him a couple insurance runs in the sixth on a Michael Morse RBI single and a Danny Espinosa sac fly. Strasburg is now in line to end a personal three-game losing streak. Update II: And Strasburg's career-long skid is over. Relievers Ryan Mattheus, Sean Burnett and Tyler Clippard combined to hold the Marlins scoreless over the last three innings, as the Nats held on for a 4-0 win. That gave Strasburg his first victory since June 20, improving his season mark to 10-4 for the first double-digit wins total of his career. With that, the Nationals upped their record to 51-35.
