Harper hoping to be on cover of MLB 13 The Show

Think the accolades for Bryce Harper's incredible rookie season ended with his selection as National League Rookie of the Year? Think again. Harper is one of seven major leaguers hoping to become the face of Sony's MLB 13 The Show, and social media-savvy fans are going to determine which of the players appears on the cover of the popular video game. Beginning today, through Jan. 11, fans can vote here, or use their Facebook or Twitter accounts to choose the next cover boy. You show your support by using the hashtag #MLB13Harper, which records a vote for Harper, who hit .270 with 22 homers, 59 RBIs and 18 stolen bases for the National League East champion Nationals in 2012. In the interest of fairness, we'll tell you the other players competing with Harper: Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera (#MLB13Cabrera) of the Tigers; Dodgers slugger Matt Kemp (#MLB13Kemp); former NL Most Valuable Player Ryan Braun (#MLB13Braun) of the Brewers; Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia (#MLB13CC); 2012 NL MVP Buster Posey (#MLB13Posey) of the Giants; and two-time All-Star Andrew McCutchen (#MLB13Cutch) of the Pirates. "Every vote places the fan in their player's virtual stadium, where they can see tweets and posts from other supporters," said Guy Longworth, senior vice president of PlayStation Brand Marketing, SCEA. "Fans can vote once a day. The player with the most fans in their stadium at the end of the week wins the contest and is crowned as the cover athlete of MLB 13 The Show."
