Harper's rehab moving to Double-A tonight, nine innings possible

If you believe what you read on Twitter, the high Single-A Potomac phase of Bryce Harper's minor league injury rehabilitation assignment is done. The Double-A Bowie Baysox, an affiliate of the Orioles, have tweeted that Harper will continue his recovery from left knee bursitis by playing for the Harrisburg Senators tonight and Saturday at Prince George's Stadium. Harper was the designated hitter for the Potomac Nationals on Wednesday, going 1-for-3 with a solo homer. In two games with the P-Nats, he was 2-for-4 with a double and a homer. He tweeted his thanks to the P-Nats and their fans after the game, perhaps another signal that he'd be taking his show to a different stadium soon.

Potomac closes out a four-game series with Carolina League foe Myrtle Beach tonight at Pfitzner Stadium before beginning a three-game weekend series at Wilmington on Friday. Low Single-A Hagerstown opens a four-game series against Lexington tonight, but the Nationals might prefer to see how Harper fares against a better Double-A pitcher. The parent Nationals aren't making Harper available to the media until he plays a full nine innings, and that could happen as soon as tonight at Bowie. Harper hasn't played in the majors since May 26 and was placed on the 15-day disabled list June 2. Update: The Nationals have confirmed that Harper will play for Harrisburg at Bowie tonight, and that the outfielder might go a full nine innings for the first time in his rehab.
