It's absolutely pouring at Nats Park

I feel bad for the tarp at Nationals Park. It's getting absolutely pounded right now by a torrential downpour. The rain is falling, the wind is literally howling and the sky is a deep gray in all directions. At least we haven't had a tornado touch down on the pitcher's mound, though. Did I just jinx it? It's looking like Michael Morse's personal opening day might need to wait another 24 hours. nats-park-rain-sidebar.jpgI just took a peak at the radar for the rest of the night, and what we're getting now just looks like the opening act. The main performance apparently is yet to come. I'd be shocked if we get this one in, although the Nats say they still hope to get a break in the weather long enough to play tonight. Both the Nats and Braves have an off-day scheduled for Monday, so that could make for a logical make-up date if the game gets postponed. A doubleheader tomorrow is unlikely because of the free concert which was scheduled to follow the 4:05 p.m. game. Dierks Bentley was originally scheduled to perform tomorrow, but the Nationals announced today that he had to cancel due to an illness in the family. Big & Rich, a country band, will now perform tomorrow.

Morse: "It's better late to the party than never"
