It's Delmon Young's turn in lineup (O's win 4-0)

Last night, David Lough started for the first time since June 27 and collected two hits in Anaheim. Orioles manager Buck Showalter is reaching into his bench again tonight, putting Delmon Young in the lineup for the first time since July 6 in Boston. Young is playing in his sixth game this month after batting .417 (15-for-36) with a double, two homers and five RBIs in June. He's appeared in three games since his start at Fenway Park, going 1-for-3. The Orioles have faced Mariners right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma once in his career, back in 2012, but Young is 2-for-5 with a double and home run against him. Showalter always checks the matchups. Young is batting .311/.339/.429 this season, with five doubles, three homers and 11 RBIs in 45 games. He's basically stuck as the 25th player on the roster due to Nelson Cruz starting every night and Steve Pearce transitioning into a regular. Lough is used as a defensive replacement and pinch-runner, enabling him to escape the dugout. Young doesn't bring the same set of skills. What Young can offer is power and a .500 average as a pinch-hitter. He's 8-for-16 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Young is batting second for the eighth time this season. He's 12-for-31 (.387) with two doubles, two homers and five RBIs. Update: Young has collected two hits in his first two at-bats tonight. With one out in the first inning, Young picked up a single. In the third inning, Young came to the plate with two runners on base and launched a three-run homer to extend the Orioles' lead to 4-0. Young is now 4-for-7 in his career against Iwakuma.
