The Orioles have announced that the next O's FanFest is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Orioles FanFest has been held in the Convention Center in January before, but for the past three years, the Orioles have held FanFest in the stadium at Camden Yards just prior to the start of the new season.
Since the O's will open the 2010 season away from the Yard (in Tampa against the Rays on Tuesday, April 6), they've decided to return FanFest to late January in the Convention Center, just across Howard Street from Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Expect the same attractions: current and former Orioles players and coaches signing autographs and participating in question and answer forums, clinics for kids, exhibits, interactive games, memorabilia dealers, and Q&As with front office staff and media; but take the early April chill out of the equation.
Fans will also have the opportunity to apply for seasonal employment with the O's on the 23rd; and representatives from the Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau will be on hand to meet with fans to offer travel advice for trips to the Birds' new spring training home.
One lucky fan will even win a trip to Sarasota for two people to see a spring training game in 2010, $500 toward airfare, and a two night's stay at the Sarasota Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Tickets for FanFest are $10 for adults and $5 for children 14 and younger and those over 55. Season plan holders, who will be allowed to enter an hour early at 10 a.m., will also be admitted for free as part of their Orange Carpet benefits program.
Order tickets ahead of time at the Official Team Store in York, Pa., by calling 1.888.848.BIRD, or by clicking here to order online from Orioles.com. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event at the O's Box Office at the north end of the Warehouse and at the Convention Center.
Once you're here, don't forget to take advantage of the free parking in Lots B and C as well.
Finally, on top of the usual FanFest festivities, Individual game tickets for the 2010 season will also go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on January 23. Fans will be able to purchase tickets at the Convention Center, at the Orioles Box Office, and at the Team Store in York, Pa., as well as by phone (1.888.848.BIRD) and online at Orioles.com.
