LaRoche LaRocks one (Nats win 4-2)

That headline was terrible. I'm truly sorry. It's 10:30 p.m. and we're only in the sixth inning and I've had three cups of coffee. The rest of the night could be interesting. Adam LaRoche has given the Nationals a 3-1 lead after six innings thanks to his two-run homer that was demolished way out to right. The ball was hit with such force that it caromed off the facade above the Nats bullpen and nearly ricocheted back onto the field. That's the LaRoche that we saw pretty often last season and less frequently this year. The homer came on a 1-0 91 mph fastball from Guillermo Moscoso that was right down Broadway. It was LaRoche's 17th homer of the season and boosts his RBI total to 53. With the homer, Tanner Roark is now in line for his second win in as many appearances. The rookie right-hander, who has yet to allow an earned run in three major league relief outings spanning six innings, worked two frames today, allowing an unearned run on three hits. He walked none and struck out one. Roark got the win Saturday against the Phillies after delivering two scoreless innings, and he now is in line for another victory. Update: What was a two-run lead has been cut to one after the Giants plated Joaquin Arias in the seventh. Arias singled off Fernando Abad but came around when Ryan Mattheus allowed a four-pitch walk to Buster Posey and then surrendered an RBI single to Hunter Pence. Mattehus was able to get out of the inning without any further damage, but some shaky relief work by the right-hander and the lefty Abad have made this a one-run game going to the eighth. Tyler Clippard will come on for the Nats. Update II: That'll do it. The Nats added an insurance run in the eighth on Kurt Suzuki's sac fly and got a scoreless inning each from Clippard and Rafael Soriano as they finished off a 4-2 win. That's now four straight wins for the Nats, who are back to two games under .500. Soriano notches his 30th save of the season, Roark gets his second major league win and the 200 fans still here in the park can go home happy.
