Lindstrom talks about injury (with Rays lineup)

Matt Lindstrom is waiting to hear the results of the MRI taken on his right middle finger. And he's crossing his fingers that the news will be good. Lindstrom injured the finger during Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Rangers, when he allowed his first two earned runs of the season. Lindstrom hadn't given up an earned run in his first 12 appearances spanning 13 innings, walking three batters and striking out 14. "I still don't know right now," he said. "I'm sure there will be a little more information in a little while. Hopefully, it's only a 15-day thing because I was starting to feel good there for a little while. To go on the DL because of a bad finger? It's kind of weird." Lindstrom felt something pop in his finger on the third or fourth pitch that he threw. "I didn't know what it was, but when the adrenaline's going like that, you really just kind of disregard stuff like that and keep pitching, unless it's something real serious," he said. "It wasn't really affecting me. I did my normal workout routine after the game, but I woke up the next morning and it was stiff. I talked to the doctor and he advised me that we should get it looked at for down the road. We did that and I'll know the results later." The original diagnosis was a strained ligament. "Who knows?" Lindstrom said. "That could have just been a sprained knuckle or something. I have no idea. Hopefully, it's nothing big, nothing major." Lindstrom has never experienced this type of injury. "It's something that's kind of unexpected and unfortunate," he said. "I've just got to deal with it." When the Orioles remove a player from the 40-man roster today to create room for Bill Hall, it will be their 20th move in the last eight days. For the Rays: Zobrist RF Rodriguez 3B Upton CF Keppinger 1B Guyer LF Scott DH Johnson SS Gimenez C Rhymes 2B Moore LHP
