Update: The Orioles selected Echerd College center fielder Christopher Clinton in the 23rd round, Georgetown right-hander Timothy Adleman in the 24th round, Arizona Western College shortstop Vincent Zazueta in the 25th round, Embry-Riddle University catcher Austin Goolsby in the 26th round and Richland High School right-hander Austin Urban (great country music name) in the 27th round. That's back-to-back Austins, if you're keeping score at home. I don't know a thing about these guys or signability or slottings. Director of scouting Joe Jordan might be made available to the media in the back of the press box later tonight. Catcher Matt Wieters is back in the lineup after resting Sunday. He's hitting .200 since May 1 and .184 since April 27. He hasn't homered since May 5, a span of 24 games. Speaking of power outages, Miguel Tejada has gone 34 games without a home run. Ty Wigginton hasn't homered in 13 games, his longest drought of the season. A few other numbers: The Yankees lead the majors with a .281 batting average. The Orioles rank 27th at .234. The Yankees lead the majors with a .362 OPS, the Orioles are 28th at .308. The Orioles have seven sacrifices, last in the majors. Only Scott Moore (.385) and Luke Scott (.313) have batting averages above .231 this month. Garrett Atkins is 8-for-17 against the Yankees this year. He isn't in the lineup tonight. Kevin Millwood's last win against the Yankees came on Aug 25. He gave up five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings, but the Rangers held on for a 10-9 victory. His last win at Camden Yards came on July 6, 2008. He gave up three earned runs in five innings, but the Rangers held on for an 11-10 victory. Jumping topics again: David Hernandez was glued to a television last night watching his younger brother, Raymond, pick up the win in relief for Cal-State Fullerton. "It was really cool to see him out there. I was really pumped up for it," David said. "I didn't think the place I was at even had the channel. I just asked and they had it. And he's out there striking guys out. A bunch of my family was there to see him." Raymond was ineligible for most of the season because of his grades. David said it was a mix up involving his brother's courses while attending a junior college. "He was actually back at home in Sacramento and his coach called him and said, 'Hey, you're eligible for the playoffs. We could definitely use you.' They took a team vote to whether they wanted him back, and of course they did," David said. "I'm just happy for him because he took it really hard, not being eligible. I told him to stay ready. You never know what's going to happen."
