Morse's test results sent to Dr. Andrews (plus Nats lineup)

FLUSHING, N.Y. - Nationals closer Drew Storen went to see Dr. James Andrews yesterday to get his inflamed right elbow checked out. Looking at Michael Morse's strained lat will be next on Dr. Andrews' to-do list. Morse won't actually make a trip to see Dr. Andrews for now, but the Nationals have sent the renowned orthopedist Morse's test results and are awaiting Dr. Andrews' opinion on what the next course of action should be with the injured left fielder. "If (Andrews) thinks he needs further tests," manager Davey Johnson said, "then he'll call him in." Johnson had no further update on Storen, but said that he should be able to give more information on both his injured closer and left fielder after today's game. Meanwhile, Rick Ankiel ripped another extra-base hit last night in a rehab game for low Single-A Hagerstown. The Nats' center fielder is now hitting .375 on his rehab assignment and Johnson said he's still on track to return to the majors later this week. Jayson Werth gets bumped up to the cleanup spot today after his 4-for-5 day yesterday, as Johnson is loading his lineup with righties against Mets starter Johan Santana. Werth will also play center this afternoon, with Xavier Nady moving over to right and Mark DeRosa playing left. This will be Werth's first regular season game in center yet this season. Johnson might opt to go with Werth in center against left-handed starters even once Ankiel returns, but the Nats skipper said the players will dictate how he makes out his lineup based on how they perform.
