Mountcastle, Stewart and Mullins among 19 O's non-roster invites

The Orioles are inviting 19 non-roster players to their major league camp later this month, increasing to 35 the number of pitchers filtering into the Ed Smith Stadium complex.

More starters are expected to show up later with Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman the only confirmed members of the rotation. The club also might want to add a couple of mounds.

The list of non-roster invitees includes outfield prospects DJ Stewart and Cedric Mullins and third baseman Ryan Mountcastle. The complete list is comprised of five left-handed pitchers, six right-handers, five infielders, two outfielders and catcher Audry Perez.

Utility player Garabez Rosa receives his first invite after re-signing with the Orioles for a fourth time in November. He's the all-time leader in games played at Double-A Bowie with 590 and also ranks first in hits (650), doubles (107), RBIs (306) and runs scored (273).

Rosa was named the Eastern League's Most Valuable Player after batting .310/.333/.444 with 24 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs and 91 RBIs in 124 games, but he still hasn't received a promotion to the majors. However, he's been a regular presence in Grapefruit League games because the Orioles keep bringing him over from Twin Lakes Park.

He finally has a locker at the Ed Smith Stadium complex.

The Orioles also invited three candidates to replace Ryan Flaherty as utility infielder: Erick Salcedo, Luis Sardiñas and Rubén Tejada.

Two of the pitchers, Joely Rodríguez and left-hander Andrew Faulkner, attended last month's minicamp.
