O'Day activated and Scott optioned (plus lineups)

The Orioles have activated reliever Darren O'Day from the disabled list and optioned left-hander Tanner Scott to Triple-A Norfolk. They're keeping a four-man bench and seven-man bullpen.

O'Day hasn't pitched for the Orioles since May 4 in Oakland. He went on the DL with a hyperextended right elbow, the result of a mishap in the bullpen, where a teammate accidentally ran into him while he stretched.

oday-set-sidebar.jpgO'Day is 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA and 0.977 WHIP in 13 appearances. He's allowed six earned runs (seven total), walked two batters and struck out 18 over 14 1/3 innings.

Scott worked the seventh inning last night in Toronto and surrendered a run. He's registered a 4.96 ERA and 1.347 WHIP in 13 games this season, striking out 23 batters in 16 1/3 innings.

Richard Bleier is the only left-hander in the bullpen, though closer Zach Britton could return as early as Monday.

Chris Davis remains out of the Orioles' lineup despite the Blue Jays starting right-hander Aaron Sanchez. Pedro Álvarez is playing first base and batting fifth.

Jace Peterson is leading off and playing right field. Danny Valencia remains the third baseman and cleanup hitter. Mark Trumbo is batting seventh and Trey Mancini moves down to eighth.
