WASHINGTON - The Orioles and Nationals will lose their June 8 off-days in order to make up tonight's postponed game.
The clubs will play at 7:05 p.m. at Nationals Park, and tonight's tickets will be honored.
This is the Orioles' first postponement of the season. They experienced four of them in 2016. The rain has let up considerably tonight, but the tarp never came off the field.
No word on whether Dylan Bundy is being pushed back to Friday night's opener in Kansas City. Chris Tillman was supposed to take the mound.
The Nationals, if you're interested, are keeping their probables for the Phillies series - Tanner Roark, Gio Gonzalez and Max Scherzer. They're skipping A.J. Cole, who was slated to start tonight.
The Orioles are squeezing in the makeup game between a two-game home series against the Pirates and a weekend series at Yankee Stadium. They still have an open date on June 5.
The Orioles and Nationals also had a common off-day on Monday, but chose June 8.
Meanwhile, another roster move could be coming on Friday because left-hander Jayson Aquino has left Triple-A Norfolk and is joining the Orioles in Kansas City.
Aquino was scratched from tonight's start in Indianapolis and replaced by Steve Johnson.
Aquino, optioned April 29, is now eligible to return to the Orioles. He's 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in three games, including one start. He's allowed eight runs and 10 hits in eight innings, with six walks and six strikeouts.
The Orioles are operating with a six-man bullpen consisting of Brad Brach, Darren O'Day, Mychal Givens, Donnie Hart, Alec Asher and Vidal Nuño, who was recalled yesterday.
The Virginian-Pilot's David Hall first tweeted that Aquino left the Tides.
Update: The Orioles are pushing back their starters for the Royals series, lining them up as Bundy, Chris Tillman and Kevin Gausman.
