BOSTON - Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen is back on the mound tonight for the Orioles, who begin an important three-city road trip with a three-game series at Fenway Park.
Chen has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 37 of his 48 major league starts, and he has allowed three or fewer in 14 of his 16 starts this season.
Danny Valencia and Steve Peace are in tonight's lineup. Neither one would be the corresponding roster move if the Orioles activate Wilson Betemit from the 60-day disabled list.
Adam Jones has hit in 11 straight games against the Red Sox dating back to Sept. 30, 2012, the longest active streak, according to STATS. Jones is batting .348 (16-for-46) with three doubles, three homers, nine RBIs and eight runs scored in those 11 games.
In his last 13 games against Boston since Sept. 28, 2012, Chris Davis is batting .304 (14-for-46) with seven homers, 13 RBIs and nine runs scored.
The O's have won five straight series at Fenway Park, which is tied with four other clubs for the longest streak here since 1969, most recently by the Braves from 1997-2002.
The Orioles have won 15 of the last 22 and 25 of the last 37 games overall against the Red Sox.
Also, the Orioles are 11-5 following a day off, including a 6-2 mark on the road. They've won five of their last six games after a day off.
