Orioles announce 2019 schedule

Home opener slated for April 4 at Oriole Park against the New York Yankees

The Orioles today announced that their 2019 home opener will be on Thursday, April 4, at Oriole Park against the New York Yankees at 3:05 p.m. ET, following a season-opening, six-game road trip to New York-AL and Toronto. The club will open the 2019 season one week earlier at Yankee Stadium against the Yankees on Thursday, March 28.

The Orioles will again host each American League East divisional opponent for three series throughout the season. The Yankees will play a total of 10 games in Baltimore, April 4-7, May 20-23, and August 5-7. The Tampa Bay Rays will visit Camden Yards for 10 games, May 3-5, July 12-14, and August 22-25. The Orioles will also host the Boston Red Sox for nine games, May 6-8, June 14-16, and July 19-21. The Toronto Blue Jays will travel to Baltimore for 10 games, June 11-13, August 1-4, and September 17-19.

The 2019 Interleague slate features visits to Baltimore by the San Francisco Giants (May 31-June 2), San Diego Padres (June 25-26), Washington Nationals (July 16-17), and Los Angeles Dodgers (September 10-12). The Orioles' road schedule against National League opponents will include visits to the Colorado Rockies (May 24-26), Arizona Diamondbacks (July 22-24), San Diego (July 29-30), and Washington (August 27-28).

Baltimore will host the rest of the AL once: Oakland Athletics (April 8-11), Minnesota Twins (April 19-21), Chicago White Sox (April 22-24), Los Angeles Angels (May 10-12), Detroit Tigers (May 27-29), Cleveland Indians (June 28-30), Houston Astros (August 9-11), Kansas City Royals (August 19-21), Texas Rangers (September 5-8), and Seattle Mariners (September 20-22).

The Orioles will be hosting 14 weekend series for the first time in Oriole Park history. The home schedule will also consist of four games played on national holidays including Easter Sunday (April 21 vs. Minnesota), Mother's Day (May 12 vs. Los Angeles-AL), Memorial Day (May 27 vs. Detroit), and Father's Day (June 16 vs. Boston).

The Orioles will play 17 home games in both May and August, their busiest months at Oriole Park. The Orioles have just one 10-game homestand: August 1-11 (Toronto, New York-AL, and Houston); one nine-game homestand: May 3-12 (Tampa Bay, Boston, and Los Angeles-AL); and one eight-game homestand: July 12-21 (Tampa Bay, Washington, and Boston). The Orioles have a scheduled day off on Independence Day (July 4).

The Orioles will play 18 of the final 31 games of the season on the road. Baltimore will also travel for a nine-game road trip: July 22-30 (at Arizona, Los Angeles-AL, and San Diego), and one eight-game road trip: August 27-September 4 (at Washington, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay). The Orioles will complete the home portion of their regular season schedule with a six-game homestand against Toronto and Seattle (September 17-22). The Orioles will finish the regular season on the road with a six-game road trip to Toronto and Boston, September 23-29.
