Orioles haven't been road worriers

The Orioles are 11-5 on the road this season after going 30-51 away from Camden Yards in 2011. They haven't totaled 11 wins on the road in so few games since 2005, when they were 11-4 outside of Baltimore. Last season, the Orioles didn't pick up their 11th victory away from Camden Yards until playing their 28th road game on June 16. Their 12th road win came in their 31st game away from Camden Yards on June 19. The Orioles won the season series against the Royals, 5-4, in 2011, but they were 2-4 in Kansas City. They're 20-13 at Kauffman Stadium since 2004. The Orioles have won the season series in six of the last eight years. The Orioles are 12-3-2 in their last 17 series since Sept. 12, 2011, going 34-20 with a 4.08 ERA. OK, maybe you'll find this one interesting: The Orioles went 9-6 in their recently completed stretch of 15 games against the Yankees (3-2), Red Sox (3-0), Rangers (1-3) and Rays (2-1). They were 23-37 against those teams last season. This one's more appropriate for the Kansas City series: The Orioles are 6-1 with a 2.57 ERA in seven games against the Central Division this year. They're 13-3 in their last 16 games against the Central dating back to Aug. 14, 2011 - 3-1 vs. Chicago, 7-0 vs. Minnesota and 3-2 vs. Detroit. The Orioles are 10-1 when Adam Jones hits a home run. So root really hard for Adam Jones to hit a home run. The Orioles have hit 42 of their 58 homers at night this season, the second-most in the majors behind Texas' 45. Seven of Matt Wieters' eight homers and five of Nick Markakis' six have come at night. The Orioles are the only team in baseball to have seven different players with five or more home runs - Jones, Wieters, Markakis, Wilson Betemit, Chris Davis, J.J. Hardy and Nolan Reimold. The Orioles lead the majors in home runs against right-handed pitching (45) and are second in road homers (27). They lead the majors with 24 homers in the seventh inning or later. The Orioles are 12-4 in games decided by two or fewer runs. And finally, on this date in 2004, Sidney Ponson allowed five hits in a 4-0 complete-game shutout of the Angels. Not sure why I included that one, but there it is.
