Relive "Nationals Classics": Historic Harper and walk-offs galore

Hope you're enjoying our slate of Nationals spring training games so far. Be sure to tune in later today as the Nats host their roommates at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, the Astros, at 1 p.m. on MASN. New catcher Matt Wieters is scheduled to make his Nationals debut.

After today's game, the next Nationals spring training broadcast on MASN isn't until Monday, March 20. So to hold you off until then, we've got a great nine-game schedule of "Nationals Classics" airing throughout the week.

Check out this week's lineup:

Monday, March 13, 7 p.m. - Bryce Harper has had some monstrous games in his young career. This one on May 6, 2015 stands out because it was his first three-homer game and showed off his affinity for batting against Marlins pitcher Tom Koehler, with all three longballs coming off the right-hander. Harper became the youngest player since 1969 to hit three home runs in one game, while also tallying five RBIs in a 7-5 win.

Tuesday, March 14, noon - Harper was on an absolute tear in the early parts of his 2015 National League MVP campaign. In the bottom of the ninth of a game against the Braves on May 9, the phenom launched a walk-off two-run home run to give the Nationals an 8-6 win. It was Harper's sixth homer in his last three games.

Wednesday, March 15, 9 a.m. - It seems like we always mention Mr. Walk-off in these "Nationals Classics" posts. In 2006, Ryan Zimmerman hit a walk-off home run against the Yankees. Nine years later, he did it again on May 19, 2015. Zimmerman's 10th-inning bomb hit off the right field foul pole at Nats Park to give the Nationals an 8-6 win over the Bronx Bombers.

Wednesday, March 15, 7 p.m. - The Nationals were able to put together a comeback victory against the Braves at Nats Park on Sept. 4, 2015. After tying the game in the ninth, Michael A. Taylor delivered a pinch-hit walk-off three-run home run for a 5-2 victory.

Thursday, March 16, 12:30 p.m. - Ah, the game that leaves a sour taste in the mouths of most Nats fans. Max Scherzer was almost perfect against the Pirates on June 20, 2015. But the right-hander had to settle for a no-hitter (his first of the season) after José Tabata was hit by a pitch with two outs in the ninth. Nonetheless, the Nationals won 6-0 and Scherzer was cemented in Nats history.

Friday, March 17, 9 a.m. - Happy St. Patrick's Day! Make sure you wear something green while you watch Scherzer see red against the Mets while striking out nine en route to his second no-hitter of the 2015 season.

Friday, March 17, 7 p.m. - Doesn't it seem right that the Nationals have classic games on July 4? This Independence Day game from 2011 ended on Jayson Werth scoring the game-winning run on Cubs pitcher Carlos Marmol's wild pitch in the 10th.

Saturday, March 18, 2 p.m. - On July 6, 2010, Zimmerman launched another walk-off home run - his second longball of the day - to beat the Padres 6-5 and send Natstown home happy.

Saturday, March 18, 8 p.m. - What a day Harper had on April 14, 2016. Not only did he hit his first grand slam, but on the same swing, he also became the eighth-youngest player to hit 100 home runs. The Nationals rode Harper's historic day to a 6-2 win over the Braves.
