My guess is the Orioles will give serious consideration to activating Luke Scott from the disabled list this weekend.
After being shut down for two days with lingering discomfort in his right shoulder, Scott homered twice and drove in six runs tonight in seven innings at Double-A Bowie.
It appears that he's done for the night. I don't think another at-bat is necessary.
Scott drove in a run in the first inning with a ground ball, launched a two-run homer to center field in the third, stroked a two-run double to right in the fifth and hit a solo homer to left-center in the seventh.
Scott has three homers in three injury rehab games with Bowie. He's served as the designated hitter in all three games, a role he could handle with the Orioles while Vladimir Guerrero remains on the disabled list. Guerrero is eligible to return Tuesday in Toronto.
The Baysox lead 8-6 heading to the top of the eighth.
By the way, Chorye Spoone threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief tonight after clearing waivers and being outrighted to Bowie. He allowed one hit, walked two and struck out two.
