PHILADELPHIA - This is my first time in Citizens Bank Park in a working capacity, and man, this place is nice.
The press box is pretty spiffy and the park just has a nice intimate feel to it.
I'll stop complimenting a division rival, I promise.
For anyone concerned about Stephen Strasburg after yesterday's health scare, you can probably stop worrying.
Strasburg was out on the field a bit ago running around playing Ultimate Frisbee with a bunch of the Nationals pitchers. He appeared to be just fine health-wise, and I'm sure the Nats' training staff would have held him back from any sort of throwing activities (even playing Frisbee) if they had any concerns about his arm.
Nats fans might have been worried yesterday when Strasburg was pulled after five innings due to biceps tightness/overall fatigue, depending on who you believe.
Meanwhile, reliever Brad Lidge (hernia surgery) is also out on the field throwing off flat ground and taking part in some long-toss.
Lidge got stretched out to about 180 feet or so during his long-toss session, and was really letting it go. He then brought it in closer and was going into a wind-up, throwing full-speed, just not on a mound.
Based on how he looked today, I have to believe that Lidge will be going on a rehab assignment sometime in the very near future.
