Throwback Thursday: Game-ending robbery

The colder it gets outside, the more fans miss warm summer nights at Nationals Park. The delicious food, great views, exciting home runs and ,of course, those moments that bring you to the edge of your seat.

Well, this week I'm throwin' it back to one of those edge-of-your-seat moments. In fact, this was more of a slowly-stand-up-with-your-mouth-gaping-open moment.

It's the bottom of the ninth in the nation's capital. The Nationals have a 5-2 lead, but the Mets have two on and the tying run at the plate with two outs. On the first pitch of the at bat, Daniel Murphy smacks the ball deep to right field.

This is the part where everyone starts standing.

Jayson Werth runs toward the warning track, setting himself up near the wall.

This is the part where everyone's mouth start to gape open.

Werth leaps, reaches his glove above the wall and comes down with the game-saving grab.

This is the part where everyone turns and high fives fans around them and describe just how awesome the catch was.

And finally, this is the part where you relive the whole thing by watching the video below.

Tip: Follow the slowly-stand-up-with-your-mouth-gaping-open procedure to feel like you're actually there.
