Throwback Thursday: Reaching a career milestone in style

After a slow start and an early stint on the disabled list, Jayson Werth had a year to remember at the plate.
He finished the season with a .318 average, but it was one of his 25 home runs that remains the highlight of Werth's 2013 campaign.
On an August evening at Nats Park, Werth stepped to the plate with 999 career hits. A simple base hit would have been memorable, but of course, that's not Werth's style.
Instead, with the ballgame tied 4-4 in the seventh, Werth hit a two-run home run to give the Nationals the lead against the Phillies. Relive Werth's career milestone that led to the Nats' win in the video below.
