Updates on Matusz, Britton and bullpen coach

The Orioles haven't made an official announcement on Tuesday's starter, but left-hander Brian Matusz has a bullpen session today in Charlotte and is scheduled to meet the club tomorrow at Camden Yards before taking the charter to Oakland. Left-hander Zach Britton threw in the bullpen here today and will start Monday or Tuesday at Single-A Frederick. The Orioles wanted to give him an extra work day, which eliminated him from making tomorrow's start at Double-A Bowie. Mike Bordick, who will be inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame before tonight's game, will complete his stint as bullpen coach this weekend. Bobby Dickerson, the organization's minor league infield coordinator, will replace Bordick on the West Coast trip. If you're scoring at home, that's six bullpen coaches for the Orioles this season, including Rick Adair, Alan Dunn, Don Werner and Terry Crowley. They also considered Brian Graham, coordinator of minor league instruction, and Single-A Delmarva field coach Jose Hernandez. Also, Tigers reliever Al Alburquerque was placed on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion suffered yesterday after he was hit in the head by a Robert Andino line drive in batting practice. Alburquerque was released from University of Maryland Hospital today and is being driven back to Detroit. For the Tigers: Austin Jackson CF Andy Dirks LF Magglio Ordonez RF Miguel Cabrera 1B Victor Martinez DH Jhonny Peralta SS Alex Avila C Ryan Raburn 2B Wilson Betemit 3B Max Scherzer RHP
