Which Orioles were the most clutch?

Looking back on the 2012 season, it's worth mentioning again that the Orioles had only one losing month, not counting their 1-2 record in October. They were 14-9 in April, 15-13 in May, 13-13 in June, 13-14 in July (but 10-7 on the road), 18-9 in August and 20-11 in September/October. The Orioles were above .500 on every day of the week except Mondays, when they were 7-13. That's a case of the Mondays. They were 17-8 on Tuesdays, 12-12 on Wednesdays, 10-6 on Thursdays, 15-11 on Fridays, 17-8 on Saturdays and 15-11 on Sundays. You're probably sitting there thinking, "That's all fine and good, but which players were the most productive with runners in scoring position?" I have no idea why you're obsessing over it, but OK, here are some stats for you to munch on with your morning cup of coffee: Nolan Reimold was 5-for-11 with a home run with runners in scoring position, but he didn't play after April 30. Taylor Teagarden was 5-for-14 with a double and five RBIs, but he didn't play before July 14. Manny Machado hit .367 (18-for-49) with two homers and 19 RBIs. Chris Davis hit .294, including .358 with less than two outs. Adam Jones batted .318 with RISP and less than two outs, and .190 with two outs. Nate McLouth batted .184 with RISP, which may come as a surprise. Wilson Betemit batted .215, Robert Andino .239, Matt Wieters .254, J.J. Hardy .264, Ryan Flaherty .265, Nick Markakis .276 and Mark Reynolds .286. The Orioles hit .256 with RISP, .229 with two outs. Going back to Teagarden, he's arbitration-eligible and the Orioles could choose to non-tender him and attempt to re-sign him later. They don't have a catching prospect who's banging on the door. They'll end up signing a few minor league free agents, as they did last winter. Ronny Paulino won the backup job on opening day because Teagarden was on the disabled list. Dane Sardinha never reported to camp. I eventually gave up the search. Here's the list of free-agent catchers, as provided by MLBTradeRumors.com: Rod Barajas (37) - $3.5MM club option Henry Blanco (41) - $1.24MM mutual option Gerald Laird (33) Russell Martin (30) Brian McCann (29) - $12MM club option Jose Molina (37) - $1.5MM club option Mike Napoli (31) Miguel Olivo (34) Ronny Paulino (32) A.J. Pierzynski (36) Humberto Quintero (33) David Ross (36) Carlos Ruiz (34) - $5MM club option Brian Schneider (36) Kelly Shoppach (33) Chris Snyder (32) - $4MM mutual option for 2013 Yorvit Torrealba (34) Matt Treanor (37) Any catcher who wants a starting job or ample playing time will skip the Orioles.
