Now that the season is drawing to a close, what will you remember most about the Washington Nationals in 2010? I think the answer may be easy. For many of us, it's undoubtedly going to be Stephen Strasburg's incredible debut. But what about the rest of the season. What games, moments, plays and highlights will you remember? The presidential first pitch? An inside the park home run? Miss Iowa? Share your favorite moments below and watch this video of MASN's Debbi Taylor asking...

The Washington Nationals today named first baseman Tyler Moore as their Minor League Player of the Year and left-hander Tom Milone as their Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Nationals Senior Vice President and General Manager Mike Rizzo, Vice President of Player Development Bob Boone and Director of Player Development Doug Harris made the joint announcement. Moore hit .269 with 43 doubles, 31 home runs, 111 RBI and 78 runs scored in 129 games with Potomac of the Single-A Carolina League. He...
Millwood's last turn

Kevin Millwood will make his final start tonight, and his last as an Oriole. At least, that's the assumption. You know what happens when you assume, but there's virtually no chance that the Orioles attempt to re-sign him over the winter. Millwood will try to avoid his 17th loss. He's been his own worst enemy, but the Orioles haven't exactly rushed to his aid. These aren't excuses, just facts: Millwood receives the second-lowest run support of any pitcher in the American League at...

Last night's game can be slipped into the "forgettable" file. Not much to review after this one. David Price dominated and the Rays celebrated. Brad Bergesen wasn't sharp, Brian Roberts wasn't feeling well and Julio Lugo wasn't on the bench at the end after being ejected. Good times. Josh Bell made a rare start, his first since Sept. 20, and I'm sure he appreciated that manager Buck Showalter waited until Price was on the mound. What could have possibly gone wrong? Bell went...
Can a pitcher with 13 victories win the Cy Young?
Can a pitcher with 13 victories win the Cy Young?

I say the answer to that question is a resounding yes. Despite being the owner of just 13 wins, I believe that 24-year-old right-hander Felix Hernandez should be the winner of this year's AL Cy Young Award. Yes, Felix should be King. After beating the Texas Rangers last night, Hernandez has a record of 13-12 and ERA of 2.27. While CC Sabathia is 21-7, 3.18, David Price is 19-6, 2.73 and Clay Buchholz is 17-7, 2.33, my take is that all they have over Hernandez is more wins. Did you know...

Left-hander Ross Detwiler takes to the hill in the series finale with the NL East champion Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday night at Nats Park, opposed by right-hander Joe Blanton. Detwiler was thrilled to get that win last time out but says a lot of credit goes to the defense behind him. "I went six innings and the team really picked me up," said Detwiler on the Nats defense. "After they pinch hit for me there, I think they scored four or five runs and it ended up being the winning run....

One night after getting an outstanding outing from their starting pitcher, tonight the Orioles got one not nearly as good and lost 5-0 to the Tampa Bay Rays. With the win, Tampa clinched a playoff spot for the second time in team history. Brad Bergesen gave up runs in four straight innings and left after five tonight in his third start of the year vs. Tampa. Jim Hunter talks with Buck Showalter following the O's 5-0 loss to the Rays Bergesen allowed six hits and five runs over five...

Brad Bergesen walked three of the first six batters that he faced tonight, and the lapse in control cost him a run. Bergesen issued free passes to Matt Joyce and Carlos Pena leading off the second inning, and Joyce scored when B.J. Upton lined an 0-2 pitch into center field. Fortunately for the Orioles, Adam Jones caught Reid Brignac's fly ball and cut down Pena advancing to third base. Bergesen didn't issue a walk over nine innings in a Sept. 15 victory over Toronto, but he walked four...
