All-Star voting: No Nationals appear among top vote-getters

One thing is for sure: The Nationals will not have a player start in the 2014 All-Star Game.

For the first time since online All-Star balloting began in early June, the Nats do not have a single player in the running for a starting gig on July 15. Bryce Harper, who has consistently appeared among the top-vote getters, was not listed in the most recent results announced on Tuesday.

Harper had missed nearly two months recovering from surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb, but returned to the Nats on Monday. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, as well as some aggressive, on-the-money throws according to MASNsports.com's Dan Kolko.

Those numbers will not be good enough to land him a spot in the starting lineup at Target Field, but Harper does have a chance to appear in the Home Run Derby, and is one of 10 candidates eligible to be selected by fans.

Voters will have the opportunity to elect their favorite starting players up to 25 times at MLB.com until Thursday, July 3 at 11:59 p.m. The 2014 MLB All-Star Game Selection Show will be held during the weekend of July 5-6. The game will be played July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
