Game 12 lineups: Nats vs. Phillies

You wouldn't have thought the Nationals' toughest opponent through the season's first two weeks would end up being the Phillies, but here we are nonetheless. The Nats have lost three of their five head-to-head matchups so far with their rebuilding rivals from a couple hours up the road, including yesterday's disheartening 4-2 defeat via another late home run off a reliever.

The Nationals will try to reverse the trend today, looking to at least take this weekend series and even up their season record with Philadelphia. To do so, they'll need Gio Gonzalez to continue being as effective and as efficient as he was in his first two starts. They'll need their bullpen to keep the ball in the park and put up some zeroes.

And they'll need their lineup to do a little damage against Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff, who has quietly impressed since making his major league debut in 2015. Eickhoff, one of the prospects received in the 2015 Cole Hamels trade, has a 3.37 ERA in 43 career starts. Three of those have come against the Nats; he's 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA in those outings ...
