The Washington Nationals are inviting fans to contribute specific supplies requested by aid organizations to support those recovering from the devastation of recent storms. The collected items, listed below, will be accepted at Nationals Park from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day between Friday, September 8 and Sunday, September 17. When gates open on game days, donations will be accepted at the Center Field and Home Plate entrances. Outside of game times, donations will be accepted on the First Street side of Nationals Park.
The donations will be transported via Victory Van Corporation, the official moving company of the Washington Nationals.
"We are shocked and saddened to see the dramatic impact of these storms. We want to provide Nats fans with an opportunity to offer assistance, but want to be sure we are addressing specific needs," said Chief Operating Officer of Lerner Sports Group Alan Gottlieb. "We hope these supplies will help convey the support and sympathy so many in the D.C. region feel for those affected as they work to rebuild."
"Victory Van is happy to be partnering with the Washington Nationals on this initiative," said David Kennedy, owner of Victory Van Corporation. "Between our vehicles and the Nationals' amazing fans, we can do our part to help these hurting communities."
