Looking at the 2011 Schedule

Earlier this week, Major League Baseball announced the tentative schedule for next season. It reminds me of being at college in the midst of gearing up for finals and papers when the class schedule for the next term would finally come out. I was always so happy to be able to start planning ahead and preparing for the next semester. Yes, I was a bit of a dork but it's exciting, isn't it? So, what do we know about next season? Despite the fact that we'll be bundled up for the home opener, which comes on March 31st against the Braves, we also know that Phillies fans will not be taking over Nationals Park for that special day. We know that easy weekend road trips to New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Cincinnati will be possible next season. Oddly, the Pirates will actually make two trips to Nationals Park next year. The Battle of the Beltways will take place in Baltimore on May 20, 21 and 22nd and at Nationals Park on June 17, 18 and 19th. The Nats will be home for all of the major summer holidays including Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day. September will be an all baseball, all the time month because the Nationals will play at home every weekend. The Nats will close in Miami in the last ever MLB game at Sun Life Stadium. So what do you think of the schedule? Have you started planning any trips? Can you start relaxing about a planned wedding, vacation or work trip?
