Red October: All set for Game 1 at Nationals Park

We're back and ready for baseball! Olivia and Bobby here with you for the Game 1 of the NLDS. Like we blogged yesterday, we'll be here all through the series, bringing you behind-the-scenes looks at the Nationals. So, be sure to follow along with MASN on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. We'll keep updating this blog, so check in throughout the day to see what's new leading up to and during the game. Let's get started! 9 a.m. - Bobby - As expected, Stephen Strasburg will get the start today. In case you missed it on "Nats Xtra: Playoff Preview," here's the righty talking yesterday. Remember: There will be hour-long pregame and postgame shows on MASN HD. Be sure to tune in before and after the game. 1 p.m. - Olivia - See the starting lineup in a whole new way! Check out the starting nine in a six-second clip! Also, here's your insider look at BP: 1:45 p.m. - Olivia - Nats fans: You guys and gals are awesome! As soon as the gates opened, Bobby and I were around the park, taking pictures and videos of fans. Here are some of our favorite shots so far. 2:15 p.m. - Bobby - Had a great time meeting fans around the ballpark! Everyone's pumped for this series to start!

2:45 p.m. - Olivia - Bob Carpenter joined me on @masnNationals to answer some fan questions. It was awesome hear him talk about the Nats' playoff roster, predictions and his favorite game to call.

4:29 p.m. - Olivia - This place is packed! I walked around the park to give away some MASN koozies and sunglasses. The stands are a giant sea of red, and sun even peeked through the clouds a bit. Also, did I miss something? Are the Nats' new alternate jerseys Jayson Werth garden gnome costumes? Just checking because I've sure seen a lot of Nats fans donning the garden gnome hat and fake beard throughout the park! 5:03 p.m. - Olivia - The Nats just got their first hit of the game, a Bryce Harper single, and the crowd erupted. I could practically feel my seat in the press box shake. The Nats trail 2-0 through five. 6:01 p.m. - Bobby - It's the seventh inning stretch at Nats Park and the Presidents are getting down to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" on the field (great song choice). The Nats are now down 3-0 and looking for some offense from Harper here. 6:06 p.m. - Bobby - They found it. Harper just launched a home run to put the Nats on the board! I've never heard Nats Park so loud before. 6:16 p.m. - Olivia - This is place is going bonkers! 7:10 p.m. - Olivia - The Nats made this interesting for a crowd of 44,035, but they couldn't complete the comeback. They fall to the Giants in Game 1, 3-2. We'll be back with you tomorrow, but check back on this page later tonight for postgame videos.
