Relive "Nationals Classics": Pinch-hit walk-offs and opening day stars

The baseball season will officially end this week when either the Indians or Cubs end their respective longstanding World Series championship drought. Whether that happens on Tuesday or Wednesday night remains to be seen, but nonetheless, the offseason looms and the countdown to pitchers and catchers reporting will begin.

Lucky for you, the diehard Nationals fan who just wants baseball year-round, MASN is giving you the chance to relive classic Nats moments without needing any of those member berries from "South Park."

Remember Wilson Ramos' pinch-hit walk-off single to lift the Nats over the Phillies back in 2012? I remember.

Remember when Harper homered not once, but twice and Stephen Strasburg retired 19 Marlins in a row on opening day 2013? I remember.

Even if you don't remember these and other classic Nationals moments, here is your chance to relive them on MASN this week ...

Wednesday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. - In a game in which the Nationals were playing catch-up until Jesus Flores delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to tie the Phillies, Ramos finally gave the Nats their first lead of the game and the victory with a pinch-hit walk-off single. The Friday night walk-off on May 4, 2012, kicked off a weekend series win over their division rivals.

Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7 p.m. - After picking up Strasburg, who gave up two-run home runs to the Tigers' Nick Castellanos and J.D. Martinez, things looked to take a turn for the worse when Harper was ejected by home plate umpire Brian Knight for arguing from the dugout. Have no fear, Clint Robinson was there to save the day with a pinch-hit walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth. You'll probably remember this game mostly for Robinson not realizing he had won the game, telling MASN's Dan Kolko afterward that he thought it was still the eighth inning as he rounded first, and Harper's choice words for Knight during the celebration at home plate.

Thursday, Nov. 3, 1:30 p.m. - Speaking of Harper and Strasburg, the young stars came out to shine on opening day 2013 at Nats Park. The two put on a show for the Nationals faithful on April 1 that was no joke. Harper provided the pop (and the only offense) by becoming the youngest player to homer twice on opening day, while Strasburg brought the fire, shutting out the Marlins over seven innings.

Friday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. - All great players come up big in clutch moments. And that always begins with their first walk-off hit. Harper's first came on June 5, 2012, when the then rookie drove in the game-winning run in the 12th against the Mets to send the fans home happy and the Nats into first place in the National League East. You always remember your first.

Saturday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m. - Unfortunately, this instant classic between the Nationals and Cubs wasn't a preview of this year's National League Championship Series, but it was one of, if not the best game of the year. In a back-and-forth affair on June 15, the Cubs were able to take leads in the ninth and 12th innings. But Dusty Baker's resilient club battled back both times with Jayson Werth finally walking it off. And of course, Werth added to his bank of incredible sound bites with his postgame conversation with MASN Dan.
