#TBT to "Nationals Classics": Harper ties career high in Nats' 14-6 rout of Cardinals

April 10 wasn't exactly the prettiest night of baseball in D.C., but the Nationals overcame a flurry of ugly errors and missed opportunities with a seven-run eighth inning to win 14-6 against the Cardinals. The offense delivered, and to no surprise, Bryce Harper was one of the heroes at the plate.

Harper had himself a night, as he reached base in all six of his plate appearances, finishing the night 4-for-4 (all singles) with two walks and three RBIs. His four hits tied a career high and it was his first four-hit game since April 17, 2013. Of the Nats' 19 hits on the night, the last one came on Harper's two-out single that flew past Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong.

Thursday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m. - Since this season was full of too many exciting moments, we'll keep bringing you fan-favorite Throwback Thursday moments that left you speechless, hanging off the edge of your seat and cheering at the top of your lungs. We'll start with everyone's favorite: dingers! When the Nats held their own home run derby against the Brewers on July 27, they accomplished the following:

* Tied a franchise record with eight home runs in a 15-2 rout
* Hit four straight dingers in a five-homer third inning
* It was the eighth time a team homered back-to-back-to-back-to-back
* It was the sixth time a team homered five times in one inning
* Harper and Ryan Zimmerman each hit a pair of homers
* Max Scherzer recorded his 200th strikeout for the sixth consecutive season (and on his 33rd birthday!)

Monday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. - On Sept. 8 at Nats Park, Michael A. Taylor's inside-the-park grand slam in the third inning sparked a dramatic comeback against the Phillies. It was Taylor's 15th homer of the season (a career high) and was the second inside-the-park grand slam in Expos/Nationals history. He finished the night 4-for-5 with five RBIs and two runs scored in the 11-10 victory.

Wednesday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m. - The third installment of this week's 2017 #TBT moments is the nightcap of a doubleheader against the Giants on Aug. 13 in D.C. Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 11th inning with bases loaded and no outs, new guy Howie Kendrick drilled a walk-off grand slam to seal the Nats' 6-2 win.
