This is getting ridiculous (Nats crush Cubs 9-1)

A day after hitting six home runs in a game against the Cubs, tying a Nationals team record, the Nats have hit six home runs in a game against the Cubs. It's déjà vu all over again. The Nats have put eight runs up through seven innings and now have 12 homers in their last 15 frames. Are the Nationals this good or are the Cubs this bad? Can it be both? The Nats have hit back-to-back homers twice tonight. Roger Bernadina and Bryce Harper did it in the third and Ian Desmond and Danny Espinosa did it in the seventh. Harper now has two home runs tonight, giving him 17 for the season. He becomes the third-youngest player to have two multi-homer games in a season. The only guys younger were Mel Ott and Ken Griffey Jr. Adam LaRoche has gone 3-for-3 with a homer and two walks and has reached base safely in his last nine at-bats. He's 7-for-7 with two walks over the last two days. Lost in the shuffle a bit is Gio Gonzalez, who went seven scoreless innings, extending his scoreless innings streak to 16. Gonzalez allowed just three hits and struck out nine. He didn't homer, however. Cut him. Update: It's a final: The Nats have topped the Cubs 9-1. They've now won seven of their eight games since that five-game losing streak and have scored 7.6 runs per game in that span. The Braves beat the Rockies tonight, so Washington's NL East lead remains at 7 1/2 games.
