The speculation can now end.
Bryce Harper is back from the disabled list, and as we've speculated in recent days, that has left Ryan Zimmerman moving back to third base and Anthony Rendon back to second base.
Matt Williams' first lineup with Harper back from the DL is out, and in terms of positions, it's exactly how it looked on opening day, starting pitcher notwithstanding.
Zimmerman will play third base for the first time since returning from a fractured thumb nearly a month ago, and Rendon will slide back over to second. This will leave Danny Espinosa boxed out of a spot in the starting lineup, and back on the bench, as he was to open the season.
Since getting off to a hot start offensively to begin the season, Espinosa has struggled. Since April 25, Espinosa is hitting .182/.251/.287 and he's 0-for-his-last-18 with 11 strikeouts.
In terms of the batting order, the top four spots will remain as they have the last couple of months, give or take, with Denard Span leading off, followed by Rendon, Jayson Werth and Adam LaRoche.
Zimmerman will hit fifth, with Harper sliding in behind him in the No. 6 spot. Ian Desmond will bat seventh, with Wilson Ramos now hitting eighth.
Jordan Zimmermann gets the ball for the Nats tonight in this series opener against the Rockies and their potent offense.
