Zimmerman, Ramos deliver in Nats' 5-4 comeback win

Bryce Harper seems unstoppable right now. Harper picked right up where he left off with a two-out laser to dead center in the first. Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin hurried back and leaped up at the warning track, but the ball caromed off his glove. Nats third baseman Yunel Escobar scored easily on the double, which produced Harper's team-leading 28th RBI.

The Nationals weren't done. Catcher Wilson Ramos extended his team-best 13-game hitting streak with a single to right. Nats third base coach Bob Henley aggressively sent Zimmerman all the way home and the risk paid off. Zimmerman dove headfirst into the plate as right fielder Nick Markakis' throw got away.

The Braves turned three singles and a walk into two runs to answer in the second.

Update: Zimmermann walked Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman with one out in the third. It would prove costly after two more singles led to Freeman crossing the plate to tie the game.

Zimmermann has allowed three runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts through four innings.

Escobar left the game after the third inning for undisclosed reasons. Dan Uggla entered at second base and Danny Espinosa moved over to third.

Escobar was 1-for-2 with a run scored before exiting.

Harper lined out to Markakis in his second at-bat in the third.

Update II: Zimmermann labored for most of the day, but made it through six innings, surrendering three runs on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Nationals manager Matt Williams called on lefty Matt Grace to start the seventh. Grace promptly gave up a single to Freeman. Pinch-hitter Jonny Gomes then delivered a deep fly ball to right-center. It appeared Harper had measured the ball, but the slightest rays of sun shining through the clouds blinded Harper and the ball fell safely, allowing Freeman to advance to third.

One batter later, Braves third baseman Alberto Callapso singled home Freeman to give the Atlanta its first lead of the day.

Left-hander Sammy Solis begins the eighth for the Nats.

Update III: Desmond sparked a Nats rally in the eighth with a leadoff single. Left fielder Jayson Werth followed with a walk. After Harper was out on an infield fly, Zimmerman delivered a single up the middle to score Desmond and tie the game at 4-4.

Ramos then sliced a double into the right field corner, plating Zimmerman to give the Nats a 5-4 lead.

Closer Drew Storen shut the door in the ninth for a 5-4 Nats win. It's Storen's ninth save of the season.

After completing the sweep, the Nats have now won 10 of 12 games.
