Nationals prospects outfielder Michael Burgess and pitcher Cole Kimball have been named to the Eastern Division All-Star team of the Arizona Fall League. The Rising Stars game will be played November 6 in Surprise.
Twenty-eight players who played in last year's Rising Stars game, such as Stephen Strasburg, Drew Storen and Buster Posey, made at least an appearance in the Majors this summer.
The Scorpions' coaching staff will coach the Eastern team, based on having the best record on October 30, guided by Harrisburg Senators manager Randy Knorr.
Burgess had an eight-game hitting streak snapped two games ago. During the streak he was batting .310. He had 10 hits so far in 11 games with two doubles, a triple, a stolen base and 7 RBI.
Burgess connected for 18 homers and 85 RBI split between Potomac and Harrisburg this past season.
Kimball, a 6'-3" right-hander, has allowed just one run in six appearances with a 1.29 ERA and one save. He has pitched seven innings, scattering five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. Opponents are hitting just .200 against him.
Kimball attended Centenary and was 8-1 with a 2.17 ERA in 57 games for Potomac and Harrisburg this season.
