Dylan Bundy makes second start in AFL

Dylan Bundy, the Orioles' top prospect, allowed one run and two hits in his one inning today for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League. He threw 19 pitches, including 14 for strikes.

Bundy's fastball was 92-94 mph, according to the radar gun used on MLB Network. He also mixed in his slider, changeup and curveball.

Gary Sanchez blooped a single into right-center field with two outs, but Tyler Austin popped up to second base.

Orioles top catching prospect Chance Sisco was behind the plate again today with Bundy on the mound.

Bundy is expected to start again on Monday in his third appearance in the AFL and may go more than one inning, depending on his pitch count. He hadn't pitched in six months due to soreness in his right shoulder.

Manager Buck Showalter flew to Arizona to watch Bundy, the organization's top prospect who's out of minor league options.

Bundy made his AFL debut on Monday and retired the Mesa Solar Sox in order on seven pitches, including six strikes. He induced two fly balls and recorded a strikeout on a slider in the dirt.

Bundy's fastball was clocked at 93-94 mph versus the Solar Sox.

Note: Orioles center fielder Adam Jones is a finalist for the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award, which will be announced Monday night on MLB Network.

The award, named in honor of the Major League Baseball Players Association's first executive director and given annually to the player who "inspires others through his on-field performances and contributions to his community," is one category in the Players Choice Awards.

Jones is joined by the Marlins' Dee Gordon and the White Sox's David Robertson.

The Nationals' Bryce Harper, the Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson and the Dodgers' Zack Greinke are finalists for Player of the Year.

Players Choice Awards have been presented each year since 1992.
