Game 82 lineups: Nats at Tigers

DETROIT - The Nationals look to go two games above .500 for the first time this season with a win Saturday in the second game of their series versus the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Juan Soto continues to do Juan Soto things. His solo homer led off the second inning and set the tone for the Nationals 3-1 win over Detroit Friday night. Aníbal Sánchez tossed six innings allowing one run for his fourth win.

"For me it's really important because we set the tone right away and the pitcher too," Soto said. "He set the tone since the first inning. That was the key (to) win the game."

Soto has reached base in 13 straight games. He has hit .378 (17-for-45) with two doubles, two triples, four homers, eight walks, 11 runs scored and 13 RBIs during the streak.

The youngster now has 200 hits before his 21st birthday joining an illustrious list that includes Robin Yount, César Cedeño, Claudell Washington, Ken Griffey Jr. and Bryce Harper.

Soto went 1-for-3 with the homer, a run, a walk and one RBI. It was his 14th homer of the season. Adam Eaton went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk as well. Alongside Howie Kendrick's RBI double, they provided all the offense for the Nats in the win.

"Yeah, they were good," said Nationals manager Davey Martinez. "Both guys hitting lefties well. They're staying on the ball. We need those two guys. Those guys are every day players. They get it. Adam working a walk, getting on base. That's what he does."

Ryan Zimmerman singled and walked in his first game back from the injured list. He is one RBI shy of 1,000 for his career.

The Nationals hand the ball to right-hander Austin Voth (0-0, 3.00 ERA) for his second start this season. Voth pitched six innings in a no-decision against the Braves, allowing two solo homers on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

The Tigers will go to left-hander Gregory Soto (0-2, 8.66 ERA). This will be Soto's sixth start of his career and first since June 15.
