Homer and hurt (w/Pie update)

Luke Scott just broke a 6-6 tie by following Ty Wigginton's home run with one of his own, a shot to left-center field off reliever Cedrick Bowers. Scott barely made it to the plate. He appeared to injure his left hamstring as he rounded first base and hobbled the rest of the way, almost coming to a full stop at third. Scott pointed to the heavens as he crossed the plate, bringing a louder ovation from the crowd. Now that's dramatic. I can't recall seeing anything like it. Kirk Gibson looked like a sprinter in the '88 Series by comparison. I really thought Scott would have to crawl on his hands and knees. Scott walked in his first three plate appearances, so it's appropriate that he practically had to walk around the bases. Pie update: Felix Pie went 1-for-4 with a walk, stolen base and run scored for Double-A Bowie. Rick Zagone allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings, with three walks and six strikeouts. Pedro Viola picked up the win with two scoreless innings, improving to 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA.

Deep thoughts
He's baaack (w/game update)
