Logic behind the Orioles lineup

Orioles manager Buck Showalter had to piece together his lineup tonight while taking into account all the injuries and illnesses that are picking apart his team. Matt Wieters and Nick Markakis are experiencing the same flu-like symptoms that have swept through the clubhouse. Wieters was going to rest tomorrow, but Showalter chose to sit him tonight because of the cold and rainy conditions. Wieters will catch tomorrow. Markakis is being kept out of right field for the same reason, making him the designated hitter tonight. Rule 5 pick Ryan Flaherty will start in right, as he did a few times in spring training. Endy Chavez is day-to-day with soreness in his intercostal area. He underwent an MRI that didn't reveal anything serious. A reminder that Dr. Lewis Yocum will examine Tsuyoshi Wada's left elbow on Monday in California. Wada may need ligament-reconstructive surgery. Also Monday, catcher Taylor Teagarden will receive his third epidural injection in his lower back. He may need surgery if this shot doesn't alleviate the discomfort. Zach Britton threw 35 pitches during yesterday's bullpen session in Sarasota, and his left shoulder responded favorably.
