Lopez makes Futures Game roster, Stevenson named Carolina League Player of the Week

The rosters for the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game have been announced. The U.S. All-Stars will face the World All-Stars 7 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, July 10 at Petco Park in San Diego.

baseballs-in-bin-sidebar.jpgThe Nationals will be represented on the World roster by right-hander Reynaldo Lopez from the Dominican Republic. The 22-year-old was recently promoted to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 6-foot-1, 185 lb. Lopez went 3-5 with a 3.18 ERA in 14 starts for Double-A Harrisburg. In his last six starts, Lopez struck out 10 or more batters four times. He has 56 strikeouts in those six games, and has gone 2-1 in that span, allowing only six earned runs.

Lopez will make his Triple-A debut on Thursday at Rochester.

* Center fielder Andrew Stevenson has been named the Carolina League Player of the Week.

Stevenson hit .304 with one home run and 18 RBIs for high Single-A Potomac. In 68 games, the LSU product had 12 doubles, a league-best eight triples and 27 stolen bases. His combined batting average over four levels is .306. He has been promoted to Double-A Harrisburg.

Right-hander Wander Suero has been activated from Harrisburg's temporary inactive list to take the roster spot vacated by Lucas Giloito's promotion to the majors.
