On a strange note, Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 on the ride to the airport. Rangers first baseman Justin Smoak hit his first career home run last night while Brian Matusz was losing to the Yankees. I told you the Orioles should have drafted Smoak. Just kidding. I swear. The Orioles are 4-18 and looking for only their second victory at home tonight. A series win would provide a nice touch, too. You want to point fingers? How about an offense that's produced three runs or fewer in 15 games? Luke Scott's batting .200, Nolan Reimold .193, Adam Jones .204, Lou Montanez .148. Reimold, Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters have combined for three home runs. Garrett Atkins is looking for his first. The Orioles are 0-10 when their opponent scores first. You don't want to build an ad campaign around that one. MASNsports.com's Steve Melewski provided an interesting statistic in his post-game wrap. The Orioles are batting .354 with runners in scoring position in their four wins, and .133 in their 18 losses. I'm not an expert, but I suggest that they start getting hits with runners in scoring position. It might improve their chances of winning. A reader suggested that I find a sponsor for the lineups that I post each afternoon. I'm compiling a list. What would be an appropriate sponsor?
