"Orioles Classics" rewind: Davis pitches, World Series champs and 2,131

It's the week of Thanksgiving, and do we have some good reasons for Orioles fans to be thankful!

MASN is trotting out some of the all-time greats in this week's slate of "Orioles Classics" replays, both of the recent variety and of the O's past.

Take a look at this week's schedule as you prepare for a friends, family, turkey and now baseball-filled week:

Monday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. - Given all the drama and excitement an extra-inning game can bring, there are few things as exciting as a position player taking the mound to pitch. I'm sure you already know where I'm going with this. On May 6, 2012, in what wound up being a 17-inning affair at Fenway Park, designated hitter Chris Davis came on to pitch in the 16th. Davis tossed two scoreless innings, giving up just two hits and one walk while striking out two Red Sox en route to earning the 9-6 win.

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 12:30 p.m. - Not many Orioles fans around my age were alive for any of the club's World Series titles. Fewer still were around to remember the first championship in 1966. If you fall into either category, make sure you tune in to this replay of the Birds sweeping the Dodgers in the Fall Classic as Frank Robinson took home MVP honors.

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m. - It ain't over until the fat lady sings. Or in this case, until Jonathan Schoop homers and Zach Britton records the save. This instant classic from Aug. 14 saw the Orioles rally from a 7-1 deficit to the Giants in the seventh inning to win 8-7 in dramatic fashion. I'll always remember this game as it gave me a new lucky hat.

Thursday, Nov. 24, 9 a.m. - Happy Thanksgiving! Is the parade not your thing? Flip over to MASN, as we give you plenty of reasons to be thankful as an O's fan. Be thankful for Buck Showalter. Be thankful for Adam Jones. Be thankful for Manny Machado. This is the core group that ended a streak of 14 straight losing seasons in Baltimore, as Machado walked off the Rays in extra innings to secure a winning season on Sept. 13, 2012.

Thursday, Nov. 24, 5 p.m. - Got room for dessert? Tune back to MASN to watch perhaps one the best moments in Orioles history: Cal Ripken Jr.'s 2,131st consecutive game. Ripken, of course, broke Lou Gehrig's record on Sept. 6, 1995 at Camden Yards. Ripken's record streak ended at 2,632, so that bares the question which amount is higher: your calorie intake today or Ripken's consecutive games streak?
