"Orioles Classics" #TBT: Reliving some sweet Birdland memories

Camden Yards is quiet now, except for the occasional grounds crew member doing some scheduled offseason upkeep.

Seems strange, considering it was only a couple of weekends ago that the ballpark was buzzing with activity during the regular season's final series against the Astros. Maybe you still have the coasters, puffy vests and duffle bags that were given away to fans.

Giveaways are nice, of course, but they don't replace the crack of the bat or the sound of a fastball meeting a mitt. Lucky for you, we've got a full offseason of "Orioles Classics" on deck to help whet your baseball appetites and get you excited for the 2019 campaign.

Throughout the fall and winter, MASN will be replaying and reliving some of the best memories of Orioles baseball. As temperatures plunge, we'll warm your baseball hearts with game-deciding home runs, outstanding pitching performances and throwbacks to some of the biggest games in O's history.

There's no better way to kick things off than a trip to the 1983 World Series, and we hope you'll tune in throughout the offseason to relive some sweet Birdland memories.

Thursday, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. - The O's squared up the 1983 Fall Classic in Game 2 against the Phillies, riding a John Lowenstein home run and a Mike Boddicker three-hitter to a 4-1 victory at Memorial Stadium.

Monday, Oct. 15, 9 a.m. - On April 3, 2017, the Blue Jays and Orioles went 11 innings at Camden Yards before Mark Trumbo's two-out solo shot in the 11th gave the home team a 3-2 win, sending 45,667 fans home in a happy frenzy.

Monday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m. - Things weren't looking too good for the O's on Aug. 14, 2016 in San Francisco. Trailing 7-2 after six frames, the Orioles rallied for seven runs over the final three innings and an 8-7 victory over the Giants. Jonathan Schoop's three-run blast in the top of the ninth provided the decisive runs.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 12:30 p.m. - A four-run eighth inning was enough to carry the Birds over the Yankees on Aug. 13, 2014 in a 5-3 triumph. Schoop got the game-winning rally started with a solo shot and Adam Jones later contributed a three-run homer off Shawn Kelley.

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. - When it comes to important dates in Orioles history, Sept. 16, 2014 ranks right up there. That's the night the guys in orange and black donned their home whites to vanquish the Blue Jays 8-2 and wrap up the American League East title. Steve Pearce and Jimmy Paredes homered for the home team.

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m. - If you're a fan of circuit clouts, you'll love this throwback from Aug. 18, 2016, when the Orioles blasted six homers in a 13-5 romp over the Astros. J.J. Hardy and Chris Davis both went deep twice, and Trumbo and Manny Machado also joined the O's longball parade.
