Orioles make selection in Rule 5 draft (updated 3rd time)

With the fourth pick in today's Rule 5 draft, the Orioles selected right-hander Adrian Rosario, 21, from Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate in Nashville. Rosario was 4-0 with a 4.50 ERA and two saves in 14 games covering 32 innings at Single-A Wisconsin this year. He also went 1-0 with a 1.26 ERA and one save in five games covering 14 1/3 innings with Helena of the Pioneer League. He walked 18 and struck out 59 for the year. The Orioles had 33 players on their 40-man roster when the morning began. It's also possible that the Orioles trade the pick, which has happened in the past. The Brewers took right-hander Pat Egan from the Orioles' Triple-A roster. Egan was 6-1 with a 2.12 ERA in 22 games at Double-A Bowie, and 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA in 27 games at Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles declined to make a selection in the second round. The Mets took Pedro Beato, who was 4-0 with a 2.11 ERA and 16 saves at Double-A Bowie. They originally drafted Beato but couldn't sign him, and the Orioles grabbed him in the supplemental round. Nineteen players were chosen in the major league phase of the draft. In the Triple-A phase, where players aren't required to stay in the majors all season, the Orioles took second baseman Dale Mollenhauer from the Double-A Birmingham roster. Mollenhauer, 24, batted .262 with 17 doubles, one homer, 27 RBIs and 17 stolen bases in 101 games. He's a product of East Carolina University. The Orioles also selected left-hander Casey Lambert from the Cubs organization. Lambert, who pitched at the University of Virginia, was 1-0 with a 2.95 ERA, 11 walks and 20 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings at Daytona of the Florida State League. The Giants selected catcher Dashenko Ricardo, who batted .241 in 16 games at Bluefield and .122 in 16 games at Aberdeen. In the Double-A phase, the Orioles selected right-hander Jacob Rasner, who was 1-6 with a 5.02 ERA at Birmingham. The Marlins took pitcher Brent Allar, who was 2-4 with a 5.00 ERA in 29 games at Delmarva. The Orioles have Jesse Rasner - same birth date and hometown as Jacob - who pitched for the Gulf Coast team, Aberdeen and Delmarva this season. I'm guessing it's more than a crazy coincidence.
