Orioles recall Webb, Clevenger, McFarland; select contract of Berry

The Orioles today announced that they have recalled right-hander Ryan Webb from Triple-A Norfolk and catcher Steve Clevenger and left-hander T.J. McFarland from Class-A Aberdeen. Additionally, the club has selected the contract of outfielder Quintin Berry from the Tides. To make room for Berry on the 40-man roster, infielder Manny Machado has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Webb, 28, went 3-2 with a 3.80 ERA (42.2IP, 18ER) in 42 appearances for the Orioles earlier this season. Clevenger, 28, has batted .234/.289/.364 in 27 games for the Orioles. He batted .305/.366/.389 with two home runs and 30 RBI in 64 games for the Tides this season. McFarland, 25, has gone 4-2 with a 3.10 ERA (52.1IP, 18ER) in 30 games (one start) for the Orioles this season. Berry, 29, batted .285/.382/.367 with 25 stolen bases in 31 attempts in 112 games for the Tides. Including the playoffs, Berry is 29-for-29 stealing bases in his career at the big league level (Detroit in 2012 and Boston in 2013). He will wear uniform #34. Machado, 22, was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 12, with a right knee sprain. He had surgery on August 27.
