Orioles make lineup changes

The Orioles made an adjustment to their lineup tonight without removing anyone.

The order stays the same for the series opener against the Red Sox. However, Mark Trumbo has switched from right field to designated hitter. Steve Pearce is playing first base and Chris Davis has moved to right field.

Chris Davis runs white.jpgThe Orioles didn't provide an explanation, but manager Buck Showalter hinted about the change earlier this afternoon while taping the "Manager's Report" on 105.7 the Fan.

Showalter said he wanted to check on something at batting practice. Perhaps there's an issue with Trumbo, since he's now the designated hitter.

Pearce may not be ready to play the outfield after receiving a cortisone injection in his right forearm while the Orioles were concluding their series in Chicago.

Davis made 29 starts in right field last season, but he hasn't played the position in 2016.
